Functionalities

The SynMed™ system has its own distinct functionalities that help you set up the automated blister-card dispensing system quickly.

Interactive Communication

Thanks to its interface, SynMed™ receives and treats patients' prescriptions and coordinates the tasks to be performed, such as the selection, counting and positioning of the medications in the blisters. The result is unparalleled speed and efficiency compared to the manual dispensing method.

Storage Capacity

Depending on the configuration chosen, the machine can contain between 336 and 576 different oral medications. This storage capacity, combined with a method for introducing "low-volume" or "half-tablet" medications, allows 100% of the solid oral medication required by a given patient to be dispensed all at once.

The machine is restocked from bulk pill containers provided by manufacturers. The optical scanning of the supplier's container and of the restocked compartment and its location in the machine guarantees safe restocking. With this control mechanism in place, the pharmacy technician can carry out the restocking process autonomously.

Positioning Tray

Each machine comes with two removable trays that allow for the simultaneous production, insertion and verification of low-volume or half-tablet medications that are not in the machine. The numbering of each blister on the tray, together with a positioning report, allows the operator to insert medications that are not already contained in the machine, prior to production.

Suction pick-up & positioning unit

Thanks to a suction pipette principle, the machine lifts the medications out of their compartments and drops them into the blisters. Seven tubes corresponding to the seven rows on a blister card, on which each row is identified with the seven days of the week, are individually activated by pneumatic valves and guided by optical sensors. The medications are dispensed with precision and in accordance with the prescription specifications.

Robotics

The use of servo-motors allows the suction pick-up unit to position itself with precision in the work space.

The unit automatically accesses all the restocking compartments in the machine and all the blister cards on the positioning tray.
